On the 6th of May 2001 we joined the Bike New York

This annual event leads the riders through the five districts of New York :

Start in Battery Park, Manhattan, and pedal through Manhattan, The Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn,
and over the Verrazano Bridge to Staten Island.
Sail back to Manhattan on the Staten Island Ferry!

But first, we had have a short visit through Manhattan on Saturday.

Everyone gets nervous and is waiting longing for the start sign.
The weather is cold and shady between the high buildings of Manhattan.
Yeehawww - the fun begins .... everyone warms up Thousands of crasy bikers blocks the streets of New York
We reach exhaust the first meeting point in Queens.
Oranges, bananas and power bars fill up our energy.		 The destination becomes visible
Second meeting point is at the Brooklyn-bridge
The ferry leads us past the Liberty and the amazing skyline from Manhattan
